CVI MB (Masterbatch) – Kills Bacteria in less than a minute
The European Union and more than 60 nations globally are restricting the use of mono-use materials. The goal today is to reduce the amount of plastics that go into landfills.
We supply a unique Masterbatch that is a fully plant obtained product with natural additives base for manufacturing Anti-Microbial films, envelopes, carry bags, gloves, aprons, gowns, PPE Coveralls, airline seat covers, poly-coated paper, screen protection films etc.
The world is evolving and the polymer industry has to shift to a new path where sustainability is a priority for governments, companies and consumers.
The European Union and more than 60 nations globally are restricting the use of mono-use materials. The goal today is to reduce the amount of plastics that go into landfills.
Conventional materials, such as PE, PP or PS, have traditionally been used by the industry to produce containers and plastic films that are obtained from fossil resources that, in many cases cannot be easily recycled, due to multi-material mixtures or to food contamination.
We supply a unique Masterbatch that is a fully plant obtained product with natural additives base for manufacturing Anti-Microbial films, envelopes, carry bags, gloves, aprons, gowns, PPE Coveralls, airline seat covers, poly-coated paper, screen protection films etc
The Masterbatch has been tested by producing a 50 micron LLDPE/LDPE film with 15% Masterbatch in the skin/outer layer.
The virus selected was MS2 Bacteriophage (MS2) which is an RNA virus of the family Leviviridae.
The additive in the MB is safe for human touch, is undergoing FDA 21 CFR testing for food contact safety and is Patent Pending.
The active additive is an edible product and safe for dermal contact at dosage levels.
The film was tested as per IS 21702 at intervals of 1 min, 5 min, 15 min and 4 hours.
Polymer Base Options:
6100 L = LDPE Based
6200 P = Polypropylene Based
6300 A = ABS Based
6400 E = EVA based
100 kg barrels and 25 kg bags
Recommend indoor storage at maximum 300 C in stores which are clean, dry and ventilated.
Storage period in the original package is 12 months. Opened cans/bags should be closed tightly after use for further storing.
This product like any other polyethylene products can be harmed during storage by excessive heat, moisture and dirt. A cool, dry and clean area is suggested.
If the contents become damp, it will be necessary to dry the total container and contents before use.
The Masterbatch is made of polyethylene & 100% plant extract and no synthetic chemicals. Films containing MB can be recycled as material and as energy.
CVI products don’t contain Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), or Polybrominated di-phenylether complying with the restricted substances listed in Article 4(1) of the RoHS Directive.
Anti-Bacterial Coating/Spray
Our Anti-Bacterial liquid can be used as a coating or a spray.
Any surface such as work-surfaces, furniture, cardboard, plastics, clothing etc. can be either coated or sprayed for a lasting viral reduction.
In recent tests, a hospital bed sheet coated with our coating was washed a minimum of 60 times to simulate 2 months of use.
The bed sheet was tested again was found to still be within specifications for killing bacteria.
The coating can be sprayed onto floors, carpets, door handles, bed-rails and or any surface that is prone to bacteria contamination.
